# Attaching and Detaching ElastiCube Directories

You can change the physical location of the ElastiCube's data directory by attaching and detaching the ElastiCube
directory. Detaching an ElastiCube unregisters it from the server, but does not delete the data directory.

**Detaching an ElastiCube:**

1. Open the Sisense Server Console.
2. Click the relevant ElastiCube to view the menu panel.
3. Click **Detach** to detach the relevant ElastiCube.

**Attaching an ElastiCube:**

1. Open the Sisense Server Console.
2. In the top panel of the console, click the Attach ElastiCube folder icon .
3. Select the location of the folder and click **OK**.
